Happy Birthday, Heidi! #3

If Heidi were a piece of music, what would it be and why?

OR

If Heidi could play any character on stage, what would it be and why?

I know she's done well as Marian the Librarian in at least two productions and many musical numbers outside of that, so I'm not going to give that cliche answer. How about Maria Von Trapp?

The best piece of music I can come up with is Jupiter, from The Planets, because it is such a full and exciting piece. I think it represents the many facets of Heidi's full life. She's always doing something exciting, but also has a quiet, reflective and joyful side.

I agree with John about Maria von Trapp, but I would also add Sarah Brown from Guys and Dolls. They were both feisty and determined, but also principled and sensitive.

I forgot to sign that last comment.

I've been thinking all week and I keep returning to Peter and the Wolf for the piece of music. It's such a fun piece. It entertains people of all ages. It involves quite a range of instruments, and if you pay attention you can learn a lot from the story. It's just a well-rounded piece of music that covers a lot of ground.

Heidi, you are an entertainer, and you are fun to talk to and I learn something every time I talk with you. You are well-rounded and I admire you for all that you have done to improve who you are throughout the years. I hope you have a fabulous birthday!

PS Maybe you would enjoy playing Annie Oakley in Annie get your gun. Or maybe Mary Poppins. (She's a favorite at our house these days. Kevin would sing along with you if you were Mary Poppins!)

I just keep thinking of one of her favorites, 'How can I keep from Singing'. I'm so glad I was brought up in a home with so much music.

I would love to see her as Ruth from The Pirates of Penzance... a paradox...
